A group of several hundred veterans of the now defunct armed forces of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Croatian Defence Council gathered in front of the FBiH Parliament building demanding the relevant institutions publish a single war veterans’ register, abolish the financing of veterans’ associations and provide monthly veterans’ disability allowances.

After the Wednesday session, the FBiH House of Representatives requested from the relevant Ministry and the FBiH Government that they submit a Proposal for a Law on the Rights of Demobilized Veterans and their Family Members, which is to be discussed in an urgent parliamentary procedure within 30 days at latest.

The Law proposal must include the issue of publishing a single veterans’ register that would include data on veterans’ allowances.

The House of Representatives also concluded that it will within 30 days discuss the Law on Veterans’ Associations of Special Social Importance, which should include the issue of the number of veterans’ associations being financed by FBiH.
