A new coalition of multi-ethnic parties announced their candidate for the vice-president of the Serb-dominated part of Bosnia, Sadik Ahmetovic, who said he will be representing all who live there, regardless of their ethnic background.

The Pro-European Bloc introduced Ahmetovic, who is a former Muslim-Bosniak lawmaker in the Parliament of the semi-autonomous entity of Republika Srpska (RS), as their candidate for the vice-president of the entity.

“As vice-president of Republika Srpska I will in the future try to represent all people of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to make the (RS) President take on the responsibility to treat every citizen in this part of the country equally,” Ahmetovic said on Thursday in Banja Luka.

He promised he will work on bringing down the walls that the recent war has erected between people.
