An explosion in a hydroelectric plant near the northwestern city of Bihac has on Thursday claimed the lives of three people and injured another four.

“Employees of Elektrodistribucija (the public electric power distribution company) were working on the overhaul of the turbines. Three persons died, and a fourth one was transported to the Dr. Irfan Ljubijankic hospital,” police told N1, adding that a prosecutor has been sent to the scene.

“Our collagues managed to pull out one person that gave off signs of life from the room,” Una Sana Canton police inspector Adnan Beganovic told N1, adding that the survivor was not in a critical medical condition and that he is currently being monitored.

“We found three lifeless bodies in the water that was within the premises. Unfortunately, there was no way to help them,” he said.
