Follow the footsteps of previous ambassadors with the same goal – helping Bosnia and Herzegovina to be successful on its road to the European Union, the new UK ambassador in Sarajevo, Matthew Field, said about his goals in his first public message to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Field was appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Bosnia in January this year, to succeed Ambassador, Edward Ferguson, who has been serving in Bosnia since 2014.

“I truly look forward to the new job in the country I am familiar with and I care about,” Field said in his message.

“The UK’s commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina has never been stronger. Prime Minister (Theresa) May announced during the recent Summit on the Western Balkans in London a duplication of the assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region,” he emphasized.

The new ambassador said he would like to speak to citizens and hear their ideas of how could the UK get involved in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
