Dozens of migrants were found on a cargo train on a bridge near the eastern Bosnia's town of Zvornik, connecting Bosnia and Serbia, Bosnia's Border Police said on Saturday.

The police prevented 50 migrants from illegal entry to Bosnia and returned them to Serbia, the country they tried to enter from.

Mirel Imamovic, commander of a Border Police unit, confirmed that the police caught the migrants on the Bosnia-Serbia border crossing and stopped them from crossing the border.

Over 11,000 migrants entered Bosnia since the beginning of the year, according to the state institutions’ official data, finding a temporary shelter on their way to the western Europe countries.

Bosnia was bypassed on the migrant route during the 2015 and 2016 but as the border closed, this country has become their new transit route.
