The Montenegrin police have banned a group of Serbian intellectuals and politicians from entering the country, claiming that they could pose a danger to national security, the Beta news agency reported quoting a newspaper report.

The Dan daily in the Montenegrin capital Podgorica said that the police confirmed that Montenegrin-born writer Matija Beckovic, historians Cedomir Antic and Aleksandar Rakovic and lawyer turned politician Dejan Mirovic had been banned from entering Montenegro.

Border police outposts have been sent a list of people who will not be allowed across the border, Dan said and added that all four were scheduled to speak at a gathering in Podgorica on the post-WW 1 anniversary of the merging of Montenegro and Serbia on December 1.
