Six people were injured in a fight that broke out among migrants in the northwestern border town of Velika Kladusa on Saturday, police confirmed to N1.

“A fight broke out among a large number of migrants in one of the halls where they are accommodated,” Snezana Galic, the spokesperson for the Interior Ministry of the Una-Sana Canton (USK), where Velika Kladusa is located, told N1.

Police had to step in and stop the fighting.

“Three people were lightly injured, and three others are currently in the Cantonal hospital being checked so we still don’t know how their injuries are qualified,” she said, adding that the situation is currently under control.

Scores of migrants have since the beginning of 2018 arrived in the USK, the northwestern-most part of Bosnia bordering with Croatia. They are trying to reach Western European countries, but both Bosnian and Croatian police keep turning them back.
