Serbian Minister: Komsic is continuously threatening us

Serbia’s Defense Minister, Aleksandar Vulin, on Sunday accused the newly elected Bosnian Croat Presidency member Zeljko Komsic of “continuously threatening Serbia” after Komsic told a Serbian newspaper that if Serbia and Croatia respect Bosnia’s borders and integrity, they will “not have any problems” with him.

“The only thing we didn’t get is how he will be punishing us. By slapping or by pulling our ears,” Vulin said.

Komsic referred to Serbian and Croatian officials who sometimes spoke of Serb or Croat-dominated areas of Bosnia in a manner that left Bosnians under the impression they were treating those areas as if they were parts of their own country.

Komsic told Serbian newspaper Telegraf on Sunday that Belgrade should respect the Drina river border between the two countries.

“Mr. Komsic is continuously threatening us and we understand that, but before I reply to his latest threat, I just want to ask him – who tried to kill (Serbian President) Aleksandar Vucic in Srebrenica and when does he plan to answer this simple question?” Vulin said, according to Serbian media.

The Minister was referring to the 2015 anniversary and commemoration of the genocide in Srebrenica, which was attended by Vucic. Vucic was stoned at the event, and those who threw the rocks at him have still not been identified.

Komsic held no official position at the time of the attack.
