N1’s reporter said some 150 migrants and refugees who were prevented from entering the north-western town of Bihac, Friday morning, returned to the Usivak migrant centre in Hadzici, near Sarajevo.

"Police officers thus continued implementing measures preventing the influx of new migrants to the area of Bihac and Velika Kladusa, which is in line with the decision of the Operative Group for migrants in the Una-Sana Canton (USK)," Cantonal Interior Ministry spokesperson, Snezana Galic, said. "This decision was approved by the State Security Minister Dragan Mektic."

According to her, the reason behind this decision is overcrowding of their capacities but also the maintenance of the security situation in the Canton.

The migrants boarded a train from Sarajevo to Bihac, in an attempt to reach the border with the Republic of Croatia, but the train was stopped by the USK police who prevented all but seven migrants from exiting the cars.

Hours later, the migrants were boarded into three buses heading for the Usivak barracks that were turned into a migrant centre.

The USK police said they prevented 1,500 migrants from entering Bihac, from October 23 to date, and according to the latest estimates, more than 3,000 migrants and refugees are residing in the town of Bihac.
