Bosnian police break a group involved in drug trade

Police arrested 11 persons and seized nearly 20 kilos of marijuana in the southern Bosnian town of Trebinje, a police spokesperson said on Monday.

The operation codenamed ‘Kanader’ carried out in the southern region was aimed to break up an organised criminal group involved in drug trafficking, according to the Trebinje Police Administration.

Trebinje police acted in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of Bosnia's Republika Srpska (RS) entity and under auspices of the District Prosecutor's Office.

Besides the large quantities of marijuana, the police also seized a certain amount of cocaine and speed drug, said RS MoI Spokesperson Mirna Miljanovic.
