Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Presidency decided on Tuesday to recall diplomats from more than 20 countries around the world, including Bosnia’s Ambassador to Croatia, Renata Paskalj.

The Presidency also recalled diplomats in the UN, the Council of Europe, and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, as well as consul generals in Istanbul, Milan, and Tel Aviv.

All of the recalled diplomats were appointed over the past four years by the former Bosnian Croat member of the country’s tripartite presidency, Dragan Covic, and the Presidency’s former Bosnian Serb member, Mladen Ivanic.

Newly-elected Bosnian Serb Presidency member, Milorad Dodik, had announced earlier in December he would ask that the country's current ambassadors and consuls-general of Serb ethnic background be recalled, saying they would be replaced by those diplomats who were loyal to the interests of the Bosnia's Serb entity, Republika Srpska.

Newly-elected Bosnian Croat Presidency member, Zeljko Komsic, said he would evaluate the work of Croat diplomats, appointed by his predecessor Covic, before deciding which of them would be replaced.
