Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik is a “spin doctor” who keeps changing his mind and then convinces people that he is consistent, an opposition politician in Bosnia’s Serb-majority part said on Thursday, reacting to Dodik’s claim that he will personally call people to protest if prosecutors do not soon solve the murder of David Dragicevic.

Mijatovic said he “completely expected” Dodik to make such a statement.

“Dodik is a spin doctor. He is a man who can change his mind three times a day and successfully convince people thatwas his stance” all along, Mijatovic said.

Dodik said on Thursday that if the prosecutors in Banja Luka do not act within the next two months, he will call people to go kick them out of their offices as they are not doing their job.

However, the opposition in Republika Srpska (RS), Bosnia's Serb-dominated semi-autonomous region, as well as numerous experts who have commented on the Tuesday turmoil in Banja Luka when police violently detained a number of protesters who demanded justice for David, said they believe Dodik’s Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) is behind the controversial police operation.

The Minister of Interior, Dragan Lukac, is a member of the SNSD, and the ‘Justice for David’ group accused him of covering up David’s murder.

Mijatovic said that Dodik has built up his political career on changing his mind frequently and that this is his the way he operates.

“I have been saying for a long time that Dodik will very soon become the biggest Bosnian in the entire country,” Mijatovic said about the Bosnian Serb leader who has for years been saying that he  dislikes Bosnia and who has been advocating for the RS to secede.

“It would also not surprise me if by February we have a Dodik who is the biggest advocate for Bosnia’s NATO accession, and who will be convincing us that he was always in favour of Bosnia’s NATO path,” he added, referring to Dodik’s current opposition to joining the Alliance.
