Serbia will always provide strong support to Republika Srpska, Bosnia's Serb-dominated part, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in a meeting with RS Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic which discussed joint infrastructural and energy projects.

“Serbia will always assist various infrastructural and other projects in Republika Srpska and joint efforts to maintain cultural and spiritual ties while respecting the Dayton Agreement,” President Vucic was quoted as saying.

Republika Srpska is one of two Bosnia's semi-autonomous regions, dominated by the ethnic Serbs, which was established by the Dayton Agreement, a peace treaty that ended the 1992-95 Bosnian war and set the power-sharing system in the country.

It was of crucial importance to preserve peace and stability in RS and Bosnia, said Serbian President.

Viskovic, who took office in the aftermath of the October election, said he was looking forward to intensive cooperation with Vucic and the Government of Serbia. He expects the RS Government and the Government of Serbia will hold a joint session soon, said Serbia's President Office.

He thanked Serbia for the assistance it provided and said he was happy for its every success because, he was quoted as saying, strong Serbia means strong support to Republika Srpska.
