In yet another measure against Kosovo for its refusal to lift or suspend the 100 percent import duties on goods from Serbia and Bosnia, the Marshal Centre in Munich cancelled the invitation to Pristina’s delegation for taking part in its programmes, the Beta news agency reported.

The Pristina daily Zeri had the news confirmed at the US embassy to Pristina.

The programmes start in March and end in September.

Kosovo’s Deputy Defence Minister in charge of the international cooperation Burim Ramadani refused to comment on Zeri’s report, but said that “the circumstances which triggered the introduction of the taxes have not changed.”

“Serbia is more aggressive than before. The taxes are a reaction to Serbia’s aggression,” Ramadani said.

Washington, as well as the European Union, had repeatedly demanded the suspension of the import duties, but without a result.

The EU said the suspended Belgrade – Pristina dialogue would resume the day after the taxes are lifted, while the US had already punished Pristina for ignoring the demands.

Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, the staunch opposition to the suspension of the tariffs, was denied the US visa and could not attend the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington early in February.

A few days later, the Commander of the Iowa National Guard cancelled his visit to Kosovo for the same reason.

Earlier on Friday, Haradinaj said he would not allow the decision on tariffs to be a condition for the resumption of the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue.
