Attendees of a carnival in the southern town of Capljina set aflame a figure of Bosnian Croat Presidency member Zeljko Komsic, naming him a reason for all bad things that happened the last year.

Komsic is a left-leaning politician whom nationalist Croats dislike and say he was elected thanks to the Bosniaks’ votes and therefore cannot represent them.

After the carnival which commenced on Sunday walked the streets of the southern town, the participants symbolically arrested Komsic's figure to set it ablaze on Tuesday evening.

Capljina is also one of the Croat-majority municipalities in the country, where local authorities declared Komsic a persona non grata after he won the last year general election.

Komsic's party, the Democratic Front (DF), briefly commented the other day and sarcastically thanked the carnival “for thinking of the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina and for helping his rating be raised continuously.”
