Deputy Security Minister Mijo Kresic dismissed on Sunday claims that he was part of an alleged Croatian intelligence plot to arm radical Muslims in Bosnia and portray the country as a terrorist hub.

“We are talking about a construction made by combined para-intelligence systems, but I am afraid that some official agencies were involved in this,” Kresic told Vecernji List from Zagreb.

He said the claims will be investigated and that he perceived the accusations against him as a direct attack on his integrity and his post.

Bosnia’s Prosecution Office opened a case on Thursday in order to investigate the circumstances and media claims related to the alleged recruitment of Islamists who were to smuggle weapons into Bosnia.

On Friday prosecutors questioned the Security Minister Dragan Mektic about the claims.
