Greek airline Aegean Airlines will connect its capital city of Athens with Sarajevo from mid-June to mid-September, the Sarajevo International Airport spokesperson confirmed on Saturday.

The flights will be operating twice a week, according to spokesperson Sanja Bagaric, with the first flight expected on June 13.

“Summer is the busiest period of year at the Sarajevo International Airport when we have a large number of charter flights, when some operators open seasonal flights, and the regular ones increase their number of flights,” said Bagaric adding that besides the new direct flights to Berlin and Athens starting this summer, Swiss Air will reopen the flights to and from Zurich.

Although Eurowings company planned to introduce seasonal Berlin-Sarajevo flights, the company’s management decided to make this a regular line.

“The flights will first be operating twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, and as of June 30, Sunday, the third flight will also start operating,” said Bagaric.
