Sahara sand in Bosnia

As the weather in Bosnia is changing with the season, the winds have brought with them yellowish dust which keeps sticking to all kinds of surfaces, making car washing pointless.

Experts told N1 this is not a reason to worry – it is just sand from the Sahara and it is completely harmless.

“Yesterday I saw some yellow smudges, like some yellow rain,” one Sarajevan told N1, referring to the raindrops containing the dust.

“It can be seen with the naked eye and if we look at the sky now, we will see it is blurry, that it has a yellowish colouring, and that is a completely normal situation, especially during the spring season,” said Nedim Sladic, an amateur meteorologist.

Experts said that the spring period will be warmer this year than usual, driving temperatures to the 30s already in May.
