Campaign against N1 journalists in Serbia continues

N1 TV Serbia informed Serbian journalists’ associations on Thursday that a campaign aimed at discrediting its journalists has continued.

The editor in chief of the pro-government Serbian tabloid newspaper Informer, Dragan Vucicevic, targetted and insulted N1's Minja Miletic without cause on a morning show on Serbia's pro-government TV Pink. He said that he has information about her which he does not want to share with viewers, indicating that he has more slander, insults and lies which he could serve up at some point.

This is not the first time Informer's editor, who claims he defends the integrity of women and especially those employed at TV Pink, has swooped down on a woman, this time N1 TV's journalist Minja Miletic.

He is the editor of one of the outlets which the Serbian Press Council says is at the top of the list of media which violate the Serbian Journalists’ Code of Ethics on a daily basis.

N1 is warning the editors of TV stations with national frequencies that it is impermissible for them to create space for hate speech, insults, slander and dangerous labelling, especially in media which broadcasts its programmes on frequencies which are a state resource and belong to all citizens of Serbia.
