Sarajevans commemorate the victims of the first wartime massacre in their city

Sarajevans laid wreaths on Monday at the spot of the first mass killing in the besieged city during the 1992-1995 war, when 27 years ago 26 people were killed and 108 injured by a shell fired from Serb artillery positions around the capital.

The citizens were waiting in line for bread in the city’s downtown walking zone, the Ferhadija street when the mortar shell fell and caused the massacre.Government representatives and citizens paid respect to the victims.
