Serbia's minister storms out of N1 Red Line talk show Izvor: N1

Mladen Sarcevic, Serbia's Minister of Education, left N1's Red Line political talk show, claiming he was manipulated and asked a question he did not expect, describing it as "tendentious."

Sarcevic, one of a very few members of the Government who agree to take part in any N1 programme, was angered when asked to comment on the protest of the Belgrade First Gymnasium students against abolishment of a language class and its replacement with a computer science.

Minister said the question was "tendentious," that he would not comment on it, adding "the story is purely political..."

He said he felt that two other guests, Elvira Dilberovic, Bosnia's Minister of Education and Boris Jokic from the Croatian Institute for Social Researches, were welcome but that he was "an unwanted person."

"I can't (stand that) any more. Your TV is some piece of work," the Minister said and left.

Before leaving the studio, Sarcevic evaluated the education in Serbia as standing between B and C but added he was still not satisfied.
