Turkish driver caught smuggling seven people into Croatia

A 43-year-old Turk, who was driving a minibus, was caught at the Ilok border crossing between Serbia and Croatia early Saturday morning after police discovered seven irregular migrants in his minibus.

During a regular control at the border police checkpoint in the night between Friday and Saturday, it was established that the minibus driven by the Turkish driver had a false bottom in which seven migrants with no papers were hidden.

An investigation is under way to establish all the circumstance of this criminal offence, the Croatian Interior Ministry said on Saturday.
