Solving open issues between Bosnia and Croatia is priority, officials agree

Predsjedništvo BiH

It is necessary to find a solution for open issues burdening the relations of Bosnia and Croatia, such as property-legal and issue of borders, Bosnia Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik and newly appointed Ambassador of Croatia Ivan Sabolic agreed on Tuesday.

Relations of the two countries are good but there is room for their improvement on the grounds of mutual respect and for the benefit of their citizens.

The Presidency Chairman informed the ambassador about current developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasising the deadlock in the post-election formation of authorities. He reiterated that the European Union membership is Bosnia’s most important foreign-policy priority and strategic goal.

Republic of Croatia advocates for full respect of equality of three main ethnic groups in Bosnia and their equality, with a special interest in the status of Bosnian Croats as one of those groups, said Ambassador Sabolic.

Dodik received the new ambassador’s letter of credence, wishing him success at the post and in performing the mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
