Una-Sana Canton urges state authorities to start cooperating over migrants

The Una-Sana Canton's task force for the coordination and monitoring of the migrant crisis urged the Bosnian government, on Friday, to implement the July conclusions between them and representatives of the European Union as soon as possible.

“Due to the increased influx of migrants and refugees to the Una-Sana Canton area, Bosnia's Ministry of Security needs to proceed with the realization of these conclusions. First of all, we expect the urgent establishment of coordination of all levels of government in Bosnia, and their participants in this process,” Cantonal Prime Minister Mustafa Ruznic said.

They reiterated that the government of this north-western canton confirmed their last-year's decision to relocate the migrants and refugees from the temporary reception centres of Bira and Miral, to the location called Medeno Polje, outside the administrative centre of this canton – the city of Bihac.

Both cantonal Health Ministry and the Interior Ministry agreed to prepare a plan on the expenditure of funds they received foem Bosnia's Fedeation entity for the treatment of migrants.

Interior Minister Nermin Kljajic said thatevery day this Canton gets 150 – 200 new migrants, but that they are still maintaining full control of the security situation in this canton.
