The Kosovo parliament was dissolved on Thursday, less than a month after Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj tendered his resignation, the KoSSev news portal reported.

MPs voted 89 to two to dissolve parliament with one abstention. Serb List MPs were not present at the session.

Pristina-based media have been speculating about the possible date of the general election saying that the vote could be held on September 22 or 29 or October 6. The president now has a 10 day deadline to call elections.

Koha daily said earlier that President Hashim Thaci would call elections for October 6.
