State police arrested on Thursday morning former Bosnian Serb army member Milan Trisic, accused of committing crimes against humanity targeting Bosniaks in the eastern municipality of Bratunac in 1992, at the Sarajevo International Airport after he was deported from the US.

Trisic, born in 1963, is suspected of persecution of a large number of victims through murder, illegally imprisonment, torture, and forcible transfer.

“During the investigation, it was found that the suspect lives in the territory of the USA, and we realised cooperation with partner institutions in the US,” Bosnia’s Prosecutor’s Office said, adding that Trisic will now be questioned.
