Bosnia records a drop in exports and rise in imports

Bosnian exports amounted to 9.6 billion marks (some €5 billion) between January and October 2019, which is a 2.4 percent dropped compared to the same period last year, while imports rose by 1.2 percent and stood at 16.3 billion marks (or some €8 billion), the State Statistics Agency said Wednesday.

According to them, the import-export coverage was 59.3 percent and the country's foreign trade deficit amounted to 6.66 billion marks (some €3.3 billion).

Exports to the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) members amounted to 1 billion and 573 million marks (approx. €750 million) which is 2.1 percent less compared to the same period last year, while imports reached 2.5 billion marks (some €1.3 billion) and were 7.3 percent higher than last year. The Import-export coverage with CEFTA member states stood at 78.4 percent.

Bosnia's exports to the EU amounted to 7 billion and 124 million marks, which is 2.4 percent less than last year. Imports from the Union reached 10.1 billion marks (some €5 billion) and were 4.5 percent higher than the same period last year. The import-export coverage was 70.3 percent, the Statistics Agency noted.
