Several hundred Sarajevo citizens gathered Thursday around the Federation entity (FBiH) government building in protest of the newly discovered abuse of mentally challenged youths placed in the Pazaric institute for people with mental disabilities near Sarajevo.

“You've reached rock bottom, what are you playing with? Do you see that the children are malnourished? You've reached rock bottom. We've gathered here as parents and no one can treat those children like that,” one of the women from the growing crowd said.

Sabina Cudic, an MP in the FBiH Parliament, published several disturbing photos and videos of children and youths from Pazaric with their hands tied behind their backs and legs tied to radiators so they cannot move.

She said this caused physical and mental harm to children, but despite the evidence she said, the parliament refused to discuss the situation there at the session which was due Wednesday.

That had caused outrage among the citizens from across the country and the first group of protesters gathered Wednesday evening.
“It's a political act of one party, they should be ashamed,” the woman said adding that if it was not for her, her child would be placed in that facility.

Sarajevo was not the only city where residents took to the streets. Mostar residents also marched in protest of the treatment of children placed in the Pazaric institute.

The gathered protesters entered the government building to present their demands to the authorities. They requested that N1's reporter and cameraman enter the building with them to witness the meeting. Unfortunately, the police said that N1 cannot enter the meeting because they were only permitted to enter the hall.
