Special plaques were also awarded to Amir Puric (Deutsche Welle), Natasa Tadic (TV N1) and the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN).

This year's Srdjan Aleksic Journalist Award Contest received a total of 20 entries from journalists, as well as three proposals from non-governmental organizations.

The Journalist Award is presented for professional and continuous coverage of marginalized and vulnerable groups in the Bosnian society and for the development of socially responsible journalism.

The award is presented by the Helsinki Parliament of the citizens of Banja Luka and the Peacebuilding Network with the support of Civil Right Defenders.

N1's Natasa Tadic, the winner of the Special Plaque, brings affirmative, positive stories about the inclusion and integration of people with disabilities in the society.

The Srdjan Aleksic Journalist Award was established in 2010 by the non-governmental organizations Helsinki Parliament of Citizens of Banja Luka, the Cure Foundation from Sarajevo and the Association of Young Journalists of the Republika Srpska entity.
