Opposition MPs clashed with the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) parliament group chief on Friday, during a protest over what they said is the failure of the authorities to react to the adoption of a law on religious communities in Montenegro.

Dveri leader Bosko Obradovic MP and fellow MP Ivan Kostic walked into the parliament session to express dissatisfaction over the fact that the Serbian authorities did not react to the adoption of the disputed law on freedom of confession in Montenegro and clashed with SNS MP group chief Aleksandar Martinovic.

The two Dveri MPs stood in front of the speaker’s desk demanding to know why there was no reaction from the ruling coalition when Martinovic got up from his seat to approach Obradovic but was stopped by Kostic who stood in front of him.

Obradovic pushed Martinovic starting a general scuffle with Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin taking Martinovic’s side and an SNS MP grabbing banners from the two Dveri MPs.

The session was interrupted by Speaker Maja Gojkovic who called MPs to not react to what she said was “prepared provocation” by Obradovic.

The situation calmed in minutes and the Dveri MPs walked out of the hall.
