The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that Bosnia has more deaths attributable to air pollution relative to any other country in Europe, US Ambassador Eric Nelson said on Wednesday, calling the citizens and policymakers to act urgently.

“It is time for citizens to use this information to demand action to address the worsening problem. It is time for leaders and policymakers in the interest of the health of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The US Embassy will continue to advocate for necessary reforms but it is up to citizens and your political leaders to make these reforms happen and enact solutions,” said Nelson in a video message published on the Embassy's official Facebook page.

The Ambassador recently joined an eco-campaign, launched by a local association, and he called the citizens to raise their awareness about their environment.
