The number of migrants coming to Bosnia’s northwestern border Una-Sana Canton (USK) to try to cross the border to Croatia is growing as spring is arriving and a number of them seek shelter in the abandoned building of the ‘Krajinametal’ company in Bihac.

The spokesperson of the Una-Sana Canton Ministry of Interior, Ale Siljdedic, told N1 the situation is “satisfactory” and “under control.”

“The total number of migrants on USK territory fluctuates between 4500 and 5000. Between 3500 and 3700 are accommodated in reception centres, the rest are in transit, staying in abandoned buildings or private accommodation,” he said.
