By protecting its own borders, Greece is also protecting the borders of the Balkans and European Union, Bosnia Presidency member Milorad Dodik said in a note to the president and prime minister of Greece, the country that is struggling with a wave of migrants after Turkey opened borders for their free movement.

Dodik expressed strong support for Greek authorities and their efforts to tackle this issue.

“By protecting the borders of Greece, you also stood to protect not only the borders of the European Union but the entire Balkans. Illegal migrations carry along a number of humanitarian and security challenges, and our joint resolute actions are the only way to respond in an adequate way,” said Dodik.

The Presidency member thanked Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and President Prokopios Pavlopoulos for everything they do to promote peace and stability in the Balkans.

“The Greek and Serb people have an unbreakable bond from the past, showed in the most difficult times through mutual understanding, respect and solidarity,” he stressed.
