Prosecutors charge another Bosnian with joining ISIS

Prosecutors have forwarded an indictment against Armen Dzelko, suspected of joining ISIS in Syria in 2013, to the State Court for confirmation on Thursday.

Dzelko, born in 1990 and also known under the names ‘Abdullah’ and ‘Ike’, allegedly left Bosnia for Turkey at the beginning of 2013 and continued toward Syria.

Prosecutors alleged that once he arrived, he joined IS fighters and participated in their terrorist activities including armed attacks against civilians and their illegal imprisonment – activities which left him wounded several times.

He surrendered to the forces of the Antiterrorist Coalition after the defeat ISIS suffered in Baghouz in 2019 and was then deported to Bosnia.
