The streets of Bosnia's capital Sarajevo were empty on Wednesday morning, after the Federation (FBiH) entity authorities imposed strict measures combating the coronavirus pandemic.
The FBiH Civil Protection Agency decided on Tuesday to ban all public gatherings and close all catering facilities, as well as services of cultural and sports institutions, and all facilities where the population can gather.
Exempted from the order are restaurants that prepare and deliver food, as well as soup kitchens, and restaurants in hotels that will only provide services for hotel guests, subject to hygienic and epidemiological measures. The order applies from March 18, 2020, at 6 am.
There have been 36 cases of coronavirus infections, so far. Seven cases were reported in the FBiH entity and 29 cases were discovered in the Republika Srpska (RS) entity. All patients are stable, with mild or no symptoms.
