COVID-19 UPDATES: Number of coronavirus infections in Bosnia rises to 176

22:19 Healthcare authorities confirmed three new coronavirus infections in Sarajevo area Wednesday evening, bringing the country’s tally to 176.

18:51 Another five patients tested positive to the COVID-19 in Bosnia Wednesday late afternoon, bringing the total number of the coronavirus infections in the country to 173. Three new cases were reported in the town Siroki Brijeg and two in Mostar, both in the south.

10:22 Two more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNK), which brings the total there to 24 and across the country to 168.

On Tuesday, the HNK saw its first coronavirus-related death – an otherwise healthy 53-year-old.

He was the driver of the director of a military industry factory in Konjic who was the first person to test positive for COVID-19 there.

Konjic alone had 17 confirmed COVID-19 cases until now.

Curfews have been introduced across the country in an effort to contain COVID-19 and seniors and children are not allowed to leave their homes at all.

Foreign nationals are not allowed to cross the border.
