Serbia records five new deaths caused by COVID-19, 148 new patients

Five more patients passed away in Serbia over the past 24 hours due to the coronavirus infection, bringing the country's death toll to 44. By 3 pm, the healthcare authorities recorded a total of 1,624 COVID-19 patients, said general manager of Infectious Diseases Clinic, dr Goran Stevanovic.

All five fatalities were male patients, with an average age of 63.2 years and they all suffered from other diseases, according to Covid19.rs website.

Of 645 samples that were tested since the last report until Saturday 3 pm, 148 were positive to the novel coronavirus.

The total of 1,048 patients have been hospitalised, 89 at the Belgrade fair facilities. 89 patients were connected to respirators.
