Bosniak and Croat members of Bosnia's Presidency, Sefik Dzaferovic and Zeljko Komsic as well as Bakir Izetbegovic, the Bosniak leader congratulated the Jewish holiday of Passover to the head of the Jewish community in Bosnia Jakob Finci and all the Bosnian Jews, on Wednesday, wishing them good health and joy.

“I extend my sincerest wishes to you personally and to all Bosnian Jews on the occasion of Passover, wishing you to spend it in good health and with your families. Passover is a holiday that celebrates freedom, through deliverance from slavery, and as such is an inspiration to all in the pursuit of a better tomorrow. The holiday season is a time of affirmation and strengthening of the centuries-old Bosnian tradition, which promotes mutual acquaintance, respect and understanding,” said Presidency Chairman Dzaferovic in his message.

Bosnia's Croat Presidency member Zeljko Komsic also congratulated the Passover to Finci, and all the Jews in the country.

“I congratulate you and all the Jews in Bosnia and Herzegovina the holiday of Passover. It symbolizes liberation, salvation and hope, and it is our hope that we all need to overcome the challenges we face in Bosnia today. I wish you all good health and may we welcome the next year's Passover in better conditions and in the company of your loved ones. Hag Pesah sameah,” Komsic said.

In his message, Bosniak leader Bakir Izetbegovic said:

“To you, Mr Finci, as well as to all Bosnian Jews, I congratulate the Passover. I want you to spend this holiday in good health, joy and happiness, with your families. Passover is a holiday and a symbol of freedom and deliverance from slavery, and it has been celebrated in Bosnia and Herzegovina for nearly half a millennia, ever since the Jews found refuge in their new homeland, becoming an indispensable part of Bosnia's multiracial community for centuries.”

Passover is a major Jewish holiday and one of the most widely celebrated Jewish holidays.
