The cantonal court in Bosnia's northeastern city of Tuzla sentenced in a first-instance verdict migrants Hicham Bellarbi and Karim Chemini to 15 years each, for a murder of another migrant in July last year.

The court found the Algerians guilty of murdering their fellow citizen, Abderrezak Brahimi, whom they first tried to rob and then stabbed several times in Tuzla downtown, on July 30, 2019. Brahimi succumbed to injuries at the Tuzla Clinical Centre soon after the attack.

The court extended the detention for the convicts in line with the Criminal Code, which defines the period spent in detention following the first-instance verdict.

The prosecutors will decide on the potential appeal to the court's decision.
