Bosnia sees record daily number of new coronavirus infections

Bosnia has seen the record daily number of new coronavirus infections, with the total of 119 new cases reported, 57 in the Federation (FBiH) and 62 in Republika Srpska (RS), the authorities of both semi-autonomous regions confirmed on Thursday. Another two deaths were reported in the FBiH, bringing the country's death toll to 175.

According to the official statistics, the country's coronavirus total is 3,796 with 2,322 patients who have recovered to date.

The total number of lab tests in the whole country since the epidemic outbreak is 87,418.

Of 539 coronavirus tests performed over the last 24 hours in the FBiH, 57 new patients were reported in Tuzla Canton, Zenica-Doboj Canton, Central-Bosnia Canton, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and Canton Sarajevo.

So far, the region has confirmed 1,733 Covid-19 patients, with 1,012 of those who recovered and 49 fatalities, two since the last update.

As for RS, its healthcare authorities confirmed 62 new cases out of 375 lab tests performed in the last 24 hours.

The region has confirmed the total of 2,037 patients, with 1,294 of those who recovered and 49 deaths.

Brcko District, a separate administrative unit in the north, has confirmed the total of 26 infections to date, of whom 16 have recovered and five have died.
