Montenegrin Foreign Ministry condemned the declaration by Bosnia's Serb-dominated Republika Srpska (RS) entity regarding the protection of the Serbian Orthodox Church's right to free practice of religion and the right to its property in Montenegro, saying it is a gross interference in their internal affairs, Anadolu Agency reported on Friday.

The Montenegrin Ministry said the adoption of the said declaration in the entity parliament was a gross interference in the internal affairs of Montenegro, adding that they would summon Bosnia's Ambassador in Podgorica on this issue.

“The declaration contains unfounded and incorrect claims which, according to the already well-known scenario from the previous period, and under the pretext of an endangered position of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro, its clergy and the Serbian people in Montenegro, aims to provoke division and political instability in Montenegro,” the Ministry noted.

It is also warned that the rhetoric used during the sessions in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (as the parliament is officially called) was full of nationalist and anti-Montenegrin attitudes, as well as gross insults against the highest Montenegrin officials.
