Bosnia sees drop in daily coronavirus cases, mass testing continues

After a new daily record set on Saturday, the number of new coronavirus infections in Bosnia and Herzegovina halved on the second day of the weekend, with 141 new patients reported in both of its semi-autonomous regions, 102 in the Federation (FBiH) and 39 in Republika Srpska (RS), the healthcare authorities confirmed on Sunday. Three more fatalities were reported in RS, bringing the country's death toll to 194.

According to official statistics, the country's coronavirus tally now stands at 5,392 with 2,579 Covid-19 patients who have recovered to this day.

Both regions have continued the mass testing of its population with 687 coronavirus tests performed in the FBiH and 297 in RS over the last 24 hours – nearly 1,000 in total.

Since the epidemic outbreak, the FBiH performed 60,534 coronavirus tests and RS 38,848.

Brcko District, a separate administrative unit in the north, has reported 31 Covid-19 patients to date of which 16 has recovered and five died.
