Of 1,271 tests for Covid-19 performed in Slovenia in the last 24 hours, 13 have returned positive, the country's authorities reported on Thursday.

Currently, there are some 250 active cases of infection, including 15 patients who are being treated in hospitals, and none of them needs intensive care treatment, the health ministry said.

To date, Slovenia has reported 1,776 coronavirus cases and 111 fatalities.

The Slovenian government has recently reduced the cap on public gatherings from 50 to 10 people, however it allows exceptions, in which case organisers are required to keep a record of all attendees.

Sports and cultural events with no more than 500 participants are permitted, provided that all epidemiological measures are honoured.
