The bishop of Porec and Pula, Drazen Kutlesa, has been appointed coadjutor archbishop of the Archdiocese of Split-Makarska, the current archbishop Marin Barisic stated on Saturday.

Archbishop Barisic told the press that Pope Francis had thus granted his request to retire.

The pontiff also decided to appoint the current bishop of Hvar, Petar Palic, as the new bishop of Mostar, after the retirement of Bishop Ratko Peric in that diocese in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina.
