Bosnia reports a drop in new coronavirus cases and two more fatalities

Bosnia and Herzegovina reported 158 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday, which is a decline from the past two days.

According to data from the two entities’ public health institutes, 1,155 samples have been tested over the past 24 hours and 124 have been positive in the Croat-Bosniak Federation and 34 in the Serb entity of Republika Srpska. The federation entity authorities also said there were two fatalities recorded in this entity

The highest number of new cases, 30, has been reported in Sarajevo.

Saturday saw a record number of new cases in one day, 316, up from 110 on Friday. Both were the highest numbers since the novel coronavirus appeared in Bosnia in March.

To date, 6,650 persons in have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Bosnia and 216 have died from complications caused by the infection.
