Bosnia breaks its record again with 434 new coronavirus cases in a day

Bosnia and Herzegovina keeps setting new records in its daily confirmed coronavirus infections almost daily as health authorities on Friday reported 434 new coronavirus cases within a 24-hour time period, as well as 11 deaths due to COVID-19.

The capital, Sarajevo, has become a major hotspot and has broken its daily record as well on Friday, with 152 new coronavirus cases confirmed since the day before.

Of the 1,207 samples tested in Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) region, 309 came positive for the coronavirus. Six people have passed away due to COVID-19 since Thursday in FBiH.

In the other semi-autonomous entity, Republika Srpska (RS), 123 of the 549 people tested were positive for the virus and five people died due to COVID-19.

Two more coronavirus cases were also reported in Bosnia’s Brcko District, which belongs to neither of the two entities.

More than 11,400 people have been infected with the coronavirus in Bosnia so far while more than 330 have passed away due to COVID-10.
