Bosnia reports 399 new Covid-19 cases and 11 fatalities, 233 recovered

Bosnian health authorities reported 399 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, 301 from the Federation (FBiH) entity, 76 from Republika Srpska (RS) entity and 22 more in Brcko District. The authorities added there were 11 virus-related fatalities in the country.

The FBiH health authorities said they tested 974 samples of which 301 came back positive. The entity also recorded 10 virus-related fatalities.

The RS health officials said they tested 506 samples of which 76 tested positive for SARS-COV-2. This entity recorded one virus-related fatality.

The city with the most reported cases was Sarajevo where 167 positive results were reported.

The CEO of Sarajevo University Clinical Centre, Sebija Izetbegovic, told N1 that a 37-year-old man with no prior diseases had died last night after he was hooked to a ventilator, adding that there are 71 patients who are undergoing treatment at the Covid-19 clinic within the hospital.

According to official statistics, 233 patients have recovered in the country in the last 24 hours.

The total of 143,978 lab tests has been performed in Bosnia since the epidemic outbreak, with 12,861 confirmed infections with the novel coronavirus. To this date, 373 patients died as a consequence of the coronavirus infection and 6,582 recovered.
