Bosnia reports 159 new Covid-19 cases, recovery rate keeps growing

Bosnia and Herzegovina has recorded another 253 Covid-19 cases in its two regions, 159 in the Federation and 94 in Republika Srpska, the healthcare authorities reported on Wednesday. According to available data, the number of confirmed recoveries in the country has continued growing rapidly and exceeds the number of newly reported cases on a daily basis.

Of 14,717 confirmed Covid-19 patients in the two semi-autonomous regions since the epidemic outbreak, 8,738 have recovered to date and 438 died as a consequence of the coronavirus infection.

The FBiH healthcare authorities have performed the total of 97,868 lab tests, 1,029 in the last 24 hours. This region has so far confirmed 8,929 coronavirus infections, with 5,388 of those who have recovered, and 232 fatalities.

According to the RS healthcare authorities, of 5,788 Covid-19 patients in this part of the country, 3,350 (68%) have recovered, leaving 2,932 active cases. To this date, the region has reported 206 Covid-19 deaths.

Brcko District, a separate administrative unit in the north, has by Tuesday afternoon reported 244 infection cases. The total of 78 patients have recovered and 15 died.
