Bosnia reports 11 coronavirus-related deaths

Bosnia and Herzegovina has seen another surge in new coronavirus infections, with 345 new cases reported in its two regions, 238 in the Federation (FBiH) and 107 in Republika Srpska (RS), the healthcare authorities said on Friday. With 11 new deaths reported over the last 24 hours in the two regions, the country's death toll stands at 469.

The FBiH healthcare authorities have performed 1,484 lab tests since the last update, 100,411 since the epidemic outbreak. The region has recorded the total of 9,310 Covid-19 patients, of whom 5,698 have recovered to date and 243 died.

As for RS, its healthcare authorities have tested a total of 56,790 persons since the epidemic outbreak and reported 5,974 infection cases. To this date, 3,548 Covid-19 patients have recovered and 211 died.

Brcko District, a separate administrative unit in the north of the country, has confirmed 251 Covid-19 cases. To this date, 98 have recovered ad 15 died.

According to official data, the number of recoveries in Bosnia and Herzegovina keeps growing on a daily basis and now exceeds (9,344) the half of the total of reported patients (15,535).

The nationals of Bosnia and Herzegovina planning to travel abroad can now test for the coronavirus at a significantly lower price than before.

A few days after the RS authorities reduced the price of PCR tests to 150 marks (approx. 75 Euro), the authorities in the other half of the country, the FBiH, have followed on Friday and determined the price of 140 marks (approx. 70 Euros).
