For the first time in five months, residents of the south Bosnian city of Mostar and activists of the "Because it concerns us" Association gathered in protest in front of the Uborak landfill, Anadolu Agency reported on Saturday, adding they were also supported by participants in the International Conference of Activists of Southeast Europe.
Earlier, they said they would file a lawsuit against the Federation (FBiH) entity Environment Minister, Edita Djapo because the landfill has not been moved from location despite promises.

The head of the “Because it concerns us” Association, Omer Hujdur, said that residents interested in relocating the landfill would change tactics and become more aggressive in the coming days, as they had failed to wake up the authorities and force them to take concrete steps.
“Lawsuits against Minister Edita Djapo and Inspector Edib Salkic will follow. If nothing is done soon, we will block the garbage disposal again. The locations discussed earlier have not been investigated so far. The Ministry and the inspectorates are not doing their job, so the landfill has been working illegally for two years without a problem, which also encourages the current local government to continue doing whatever it wants,” said Hujdur.
